Terroir Experiences

2011 Artesy Seilenos is named after the Greek God of the dance of the wine-press . The 2011 Artesy Seilenos Syrah is a single vineyard wine that was grown by Buil & Gine in Priorat Spain. Priorat is a warm appellation near Barcelona with steep hillsides and distinctive terroir. The vineyard was planted in 1999 and is at 350 meters, with a east/south exposure. The soil is very short, with slate and rocks. The 2011 Artesy Seilenos was produced  in the Buil & Gene cellar. The grapes were de-stemmed and whole berries were dropped into a stainless tank. The process featured a natural indigenous fermentation with daily gentle manual punchdowns. 2011 Seilenos was aged for 21 months in neutral French oak barrels. 2011 Artesy Seilenos carries the appellation of the vineyard which is Priorat Spain.
