YAKIMA VALLEY WASHINGTON 2013

2013 Artesy Antheia Syrah is named after the Greek Goddess of flowers and wreaths. Antheia is a single vineyard wine grown at Red Willow Vineyard in Yakima Valley Washington. Red Willow Vineyard is located in the northwest corner of the
Yakima Valley on the south slope of the Ahtanum Ridge. The elevation of the vineyard is 1300 ft. The soil profile is a mix of calcareous rocks, clay, loam, sand, sandstone and silt. The vines were planted in 2000. 2013 Artesy Antheia was
produced at Elizabeth Chambers Cellars in McMinnville OR. The grapes were destemmed and whole berries were dropped into a stainless fermentation tank. A natural indigenous fermentation was used with daily gentle manual punchdowns.
Antheia was aged 18 months in neutral French oak barrels. The wine carries the appellation (AVA) of the grape source which is Yakima Valley Washington.
